Le istituzioni municipali in Toscana (secc. XV-XVIII)

The municipal history of the late medieval centuries has marked Tuscan cities in profound ways architecturally, culturally and in terms of public memory. The essays in this volume, presented at the study conference held in Montevarchi in May 2021, aim to investigate a specific and not always valued aspect of this history of the 'Commune after the Commune': the continuity of municipal institutional structures of the communal age after the 15th century, that is, within the political structures of the Ancient Regime, both within the Florentine - then Medici - territorial state and in the experiences of the cities of Siena and Lucca.

Lorenzo Tanzini
Lorenzo Tanzini (Montevarchi 1976) è professore associato Storia medievale presso l’Università di Cagliari e membro della redazione dell'Archivio storico italiano. Si interessa soprattutto di storia delle istituzioni e della cultura politica tra Medioevo e prima età moderna, con particolare riguardo a Firenze e alla Toscana: tra i suoi lavori più recenti A consiglio. La vita politica nell'Italia dei comuni (Roma-Bari, 2014) e 1345. La bancarotta di Firenze (Roma, 2018). Per Olschki ha pubblicato vari volumi tra cui Alle origini della Toscana moderna (2007). - (dicembre 2018) -
