Francesco Panigarola (1548-1594) is a fundamental figure of the culture of the late 16th century. Not only he was the greatest catholic preacher of Counter-Reformation, he was also a commentator and theologian, an expert in philosophy and in the art of memory, a historian and poet, bishop of Asti and protagonist of the religion wars in France. The essays here gathered illustrate his life and works from a critical and cross-curricular perspective.
