From Heinrich Finke (1855-1938) to the latest international show about the Staufens (2011), the study of the Sicilian Vesper Period (1250-1302) is a constant element in the historical German production. This research, through the analysis of the methodological, interpretative changes in the two last centuries, reconstructs the contribution of the historical German science to the study of an age decisive in the formation of the cultural German identity.

Marco Leonardi
Marco Leonardi (Catania 1977) è Ricercatore Universitario in Storia Medievale presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Umanistiche dell’Università di Catania. Formatosi presso sedi universitarie quali l’Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, la Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München e l’ateneo di Catania, si è specializzato nello studio dell’utilizzo delle risorse naturali nel Tardo Medioevo attraverso soggiorni di ricerca presso i Monumenta Germaniae Historica (München), il Deutsches Historisches Institut Rom e il Römisches Institut der Görres-Gesellschaft. Tra le sue pubblicazioni, basti ricordare L’Età del Vespro Siciliano nella storiografia Tedesca (Firenze 2011), Wasserinfrastrukturen als Streitfaktor in der Stadt Catania von Kaiser Friedrich II. bis zu Alfons V. „dem Großmütigen“ (München 2015). - (dicembre 2016) -
