The aim of this series «Giardini e Paesaggio» is to provide significant and vital evidence on the subject of gardens and landscapes, a reality to which international organizations and an ever increasing public are becoming constantly more aware. Many of the contributions, although rigorously interdisciplinary and of an international standard, also take into account ‘local’ and apparently ‘less’ important issues that subsequently prove to be highly significant. The series is therefore a place for critical debates and discussions on research methods and approaches, with an open and experimental attitude to gardens and landscapes ignoring schematization and ideological categories that until now had the tendency to undermine research on this topic.
