Can the works of Dante Alighieri contribute to educating jurists and citizens in the 21st century? To retrace the steps of the Supreme Poet on his pilgrimage through the three “kingdoms”, starting from the plastic presentation of human weakness in Dante’s Inferno, means rising one’s gaze up from the earth and, by recovering the humanistic dimension of the law, taking the reader on an authentic “journey of the mind towards Justice”. It is the exercise of perfect virtue that leads, historically and forever, to a renewed ability to gaze at the heavens and “rebehold the stars”.
