This work in four volumes illustrates the fame and fortune of writer Emilio Salgari (1862-1911), and attempts to demystify the extraordinary cultural phenomenon caused by his success. The last volume provides a comprehensive reconstruction of Salgari's bibliographical history from his first appendix publications in 1883, to recent tributes from 2012. The various annotated bibliographies offer an exhaustive analysis of all aspects of Salgari's rich production, while the General Bibliography brings together volumes and articles about Salgari by critics and journalists spanning more than a century. The first part of this fourth volume includes an Annotated Catalogue outlining the different reactions to Salgari's work.
