Albrecht Dürer e Venezia

This book is a monographic study on Dürer and Venice, but the scope of the analysis is not limited to the few but intense years he spent there. It investigates instead the varied and complex aspects that characterized the reception of that work, from different points of view and at various moments in time, ending in the early 19th century when Giovanni de Lazara and Jacopo Morelli exchanged an Italian version of Dürer’s Venetian letters, that appear in print in their totality for the very first time.

Giovanni Maria Fara è professore ordinario all’Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, dove insegna Storia dell’arte moderna e Storia del disegno e della grafica. Tra i suoi libri: Albrecht Dürer.
