La Capponiera

Through the controversial and much-disputed figure of Ludovico Capponi, the editors of this work have reconstructed a world and an era. The historical background is that of Florence under the princes and the Tridentine reforms of the Roman Church. The milieu and the historical background are described by Girolamo Muzio, famous author of the 1550 treatise entitled Il Duello, and they are introduced by two renowned scholars of the Renaissance, Riccardo Fubini and Beatrice Paolozzi Strozzi.
