I 'Libri di stampe' dei Medici e le stampe in volume degli Uffizi

This original study on the relationship between the Medici, print collectors and print buyers during the two centuries of the Princedom is based on a ten-year research. The research has highlighted high quality and consistency of a collection boasting excellences such as the 16th- and 17th-century Flemish and Dutch prints, thus taking a significant step forward in redefining the historical profile of the Uffizi Drawings and Prints Department.

Alessandra Baroni
Alessandra Baroni, storico dell’arte e musicista, ha conseguito il PhD presso l’Università di Utrecht. È autrice e curatrice di numerosi studi e mostre sull’arte toscana e fiorentina del tardo Rinascimento riguardanti, in particolare, Giorgio Vasari e la cerchia di artisti dell’Accademia del Disegno. La sua monografia su Jan van der Straet, Johannes Stradanus, ha ricevuto la menzione d’onore del Premio Salimbeni 1998. Presso il Metropolitan Museum di New York, come Andrew W. Mellon Fellow ha condotto una ricerca sulla relazione tra Italia e Fiandre nella produzione di grafica della seconda metà del ‘500. È docente di storia dell’arte presso l’Università di Rochester e curatrice della Collezione Bartolini della Fraternita dei Laici di Arezzo.
