Ernesto De Angelis
Ernesto de Angelis (1943-2001), medical doctor and biologist, dedicated all his free time to lutherie and its study, with particular attention to the Neapolitan School. Researching was part of his entire life, both in medicine and in the construction of musical instruments as violins, violas, cellos, guitars, and mandolins built according to his own personal style, but always referring to the Neapolitan School of Lutherie. He restored many ancient instruments belonging both to private collectors and to the Music School of Naples and Bari. Honorary member of Associazione Liutaria Italiana and Accademia Mandolinistica Napoletana, he was frequently invited to speak at seminars and was recognized in publications such as «String and Strand» issues. - (maggio 2023) -
