This collection of fourteen essays is dedicated to the question of ‘nothing’ in the Middle Ages and in the early modern period, illustrating the historical relevance of its concept and the thematic variety of its influence. Besides the theological issue of creation and justification, the papers explore ontological and metaphysical questions, discuss logic and epistemological problems and touch scientific and cosmological considerations.
