In the second volume of Quaderni di osservazioni the confutation of the spontaneous generation thesis is developed by means of the individuation of the eggs and the reproductive cycle of various insects and by demonstrating the parental origin of many larva parasites and insects of oak galls. Innovative descriptions are also reported on the ethology of solitary wasps and some of their parasites. A transitional effort is made towards new classification and nomenclature criteria in the naturalistic field.
