An interesting survey of recent historiography on Tuscany in the modern age, from which emerges the wide range of historiographical themes and problems that deeply characterise the most recent way to read Tuscany’s history. Institutional profiles, forms and exercise of power, archives, history of the Church, assistance, justice, nobility, town: for each of these themes an overview is given which not only indicates the paths walked by researchers but opens up possible future historiographical developments.
