Epistolario (1714-1729)

The edition of about 1100 of Vallisneri’s letters, spanning the years 1714 to 1729, completes the work undertaken with the publication (in 1991 and 1998) of the two volumes of the collection gathering the first 476 letters, relating to the period 1679-1713. Easy access to the whole collection is now granted, which provides a major tool for illustrating the wide section of historiographical research on the topics the author dealt with and the circles he frequented.

Dario Generali ha concentrato le sue ricerche sulla circolazione del sapere attraverso i periodici eruditi e i carteggi, sull’ecdotica del testo scientifico d’età moderna, sull’illustrazione del dibattito relativo alle scienze naturalistiche e della vita nell’Italia fra Sei e Settecento, sui modelli storiografici della scienza. È autore di un’ampia produzione editoriale su questi argomenti ed è coordinatore scientifico dell’Edizione Nazionale delle Opere di Antonio Vallisneri, che ha sede presso l’ISPF-CNR. - (giugno 2013) -
