This new contribution contains a 'corpus' of a great many unpublished papers that prove useful in understanding both the man and the poet, but above all the vicissitudes that led to his imprisonment by the Florentine Sant’Uffizio for belonging to the Hanoverian inspired Masonic lodge and later his conviction by the Roman Supreme Congregation Crudeli died prematurely but not before contributing towards the first collection of his poetry and the draft of the story relating his detention and punishment.
