- About this book
This is the Italian translation of a memoir that the philosopher Maine de Biran (1766-1824) read out to Bergerac’s «Société médicale» on 13th November 1808. In this work Biran refuses Franz Joseph Gall’s organological theory showing his thorough knowledge of the medical-scientific debate at the time on cerebral localization. The true aim at stake however was the agreement between physiology and psychology, medicine and metaphysics and the care of the ‘physique’ and care of the ‘moral’.
