The French physician, literary man and philosopher René Fédé (1644-1716) went down in history of Cartesianism as the editor of the third French edition of Descartes’s «Méditations», whereas his own philosophical works seem to have gained scarce consideration. From 1683 to 1705, Fédé published three editions of his «Méditations métaphysiques» and a «Théologie métaphysique», revealing a great deal of attention to the developement of contemporary philosophic and scientific theories.
