The city of Florence has a wealth of Latin inscriptions dating from the Middle Ages which hitherto have largely gone unexplored. In this volume the writer looks at the dedication inscription of the Palazzo del Podestà dating from 1255 AD. and begins a search for the identity of its author. In the process, he finds other XIIIth Century inscriptions which help in that search.
