Almost contemporanies Bartolini and Timpanaro were united by a passion for engraving. Admirers and collectors of Fattori, Signorini, Goya, whose prints they exchanged with enthusiasm, they discovered a fulfilling moment of artistic activity in graphics. Their relationship, reconstructed for the occasion thanks to the letters the scholar sent to the artist, began at the end of 1936 and lasted until 1949 when Timpanaro passed away.
