Paul Dibon, to whom this conference is dedicated, is the scholar who reconstructed some of the most significant moments of 17th century culture, Dutch Cartesianism, institutions, erudite communication in Holland during the golden age, around the notions of ‘République des Lettres’, a priviledged expression for the comprehension of the European «spirit» at that time. The conference lasted two days, the first dedicated to the historical and methodological aspects and the second to historical-philosophical themes on the ‘Vocabolario’.
