The biographies of the «Commedia» outline and accomplish a new frontier for Dante’s thanatology that allows the poet to assert himself as an author of a new erudite poetry, whose contents are severely rationalized in view of the powerful and singular cultural syncretism which has allowed the poet to undertake the most eccentric mediaeval adventure ever to be conceived. The same are made known universally by a language and a learned tongue that could well aspire to become the new language of Adam. The criterion of historicity therefore ratifies the supreme value of the new poetical language according to the criteria of the new universality.
