Vincenzo Danti (1530-1576)

A reconstruction of the stylistic route and critical events of this sculptor, born in Perugia, but active in Florence at the court of Cosimo I. Formed on Michelangelo’s example and updated according to the rules and regulations of the Accademia del Disegno - of which he was consul - Vincenzo Danti is ‘rediscovered’ as one of the most original interpreters of Buonarroti, whose message, filtered through a theorical and intellectual spirit, is evident in the majority of his works, accurately examined one by one in the catalogue.
