The journal groups together original contributions from both Italian and foreign authors on the history of science from ancient times to the present day. The topics dealt with cover a wide range of doctrines: the history of astronomy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, natural science, biology, medicine, psychology, technology etc. «Physis» welcomes articles on themes such as scientific institutes and apparatus, historiography of science, scientific museology, relationships between science and philosophy, science and technology, science and society and other critical and borderline topics.
The journal publishes texts in Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish.
Each article is accompanied by an abstract in English and by information on author/s affiliations and addresses.
Each article is submitted to a double-blind scholarly peer review.
Stefano Carrai
Stefano Carrai è professore ordinario di Filologia Italiana presso l’Università degli Studi di Siena. Ha insegnato, a vario titolo, nelle Università di Trento, Leida, Ginevra e Nancy. Si è occupato prevalentemente di studi medievali e rinascimentali, pubblicando vari contributi anche su poeti e scrittori moderni e contemporanei. Dirige con altri la rivista «Filologia Italiana». Ha scritto volumi saggistici (Le muse dei Pulci, Napoli 1985; Ad Somnum, Padova 1990; La lirica toscana del Duecento, Roma-Bari 1997; I precetti di Parnaso, Roma 1999) e curato varie edizioni di testi, tra cui i Pastoralia di Boiardo (Padova 1996) e le Rime di Della Casa (Torino 2003).
