The seven essays included in this volume focus on the figure of Alberti as a humanist and writer. The book is divided in three sections, about the life, the humanistic approach, and some important works by Alberti such as De familia, De re aedificatioria, Theogenius, and Canis. Despite the different character of the works here analysed, all the essays follow a similar methodology, trying to explain what Alberti wrote through what he had read.
