Only parts of the works of Heraclitus, called the Obscure for his subtlety and the oracular nature of his sayings, have survived. The editor’s attempt is to retrieve his thought by reconsidering the dialogue between philology and philosophy in the archaic and sacred context his ideas came from. The most resounding proposal is Serge Mouraviev’s hypothesis of reconstruction of Heraclitus’ work, here presented for the first time in Italian translation.
