Félicie de Fauveau
Una scultrice romantica da Parigi a Firenze

The life of sculptress Félicie de Fauveau (1801-1886), active in Florence from 1833 to her death, is traced on the basis of rich documentation. An outstanding personality among many foreign artists working in the grand duchy’s capital, she drew inspiration mainly from the Middle Ages as a dimension where she could find the meaning of her human and artistic search. Her biography helps us better understand the cultural life of 19th-century Florence.

Silvia Mascalchi
Silvia Mascalchi, storica d’arte, è stata docente presso l’Istituto d’Arte e l’Università di Firenze; attualmente lavora nella Sezione didattica del Polo Museale Fiorentino. è autrice di numerosi testi sul mecenatismo mediceo, e negli ultimi anni si è dedicata in particolare – anche in collaborazione con il Centro Romantico del Gabinetto Vieusseux – alla presenza degli artisti francesi nella Firenze ottocentesca.
