The volume gathers the analyses conducted by experts in different linguistic domains (phonological, prosodic, syntactic and pragmatic) on the Italian spoken in Florence, Perugia and Rome. Data and analyses concerning three linguistic varieties of the central area are now gathered in one volume. It is interesting to compare side-by-side varieties that present basic similarities but also peculiarities and are potentially available for comparative analysis on specific levels of the spoken language.
