Sobre lo uno

Published in 1562, with the Somniorum Synesiorum libri and following the edition of the great naturalistic encyclopaedias, the De uno concerns the metaphysical question of the entity supporting the order of the universe and the immaterial world, given that «only what is one is good as well». Cardano wrote the De uno as an introduction to the method (the Dialectica) and to the study of the «arcana aeternitatis», which shows the universal order from God to civil society.
