A collection of nine studies concerning Antonio Conti (1667-1749), an important man of letters and philosopher, who lived for a long time in France and England, where he frequently met the protagonists of the new European thought. The first part is devoted to Conti’s correspondence with Maffei, Muratori, Bentivoglio, Cocchi and Madame de Caylus, with some unpublished documents; the second part concerns Conti’s translations from Pope and Horace, the Historical Discourse about the events in France, to which the author was a witness, and his tragedies.
