The purpose of the conference«The life and world of Leon Battista Alberti» was to reconstruct Alberti’s life, on the grounds of Girolamo Mancini’s volume, published a century ago, which remains the standard biography of Alberti. The Genoa Conference provided new data on Alberti’s family, his work and his relationship to the society of that time. New and important essays deal with Alberti’s presence in Rome and in other towns where he worked.
