Mario Augusto Martini and his son Roberto were mayors of Scandicci in the first half of the twentieth century. Both played important roles on the local and national socio-political scene: Mario Augusto, founder of the Partito Popolare, was a deputy and ambassador to Brasil; Roberto became a prominent member of the socialist party of Florence. The appendix describes the documents relating to his wife, Tosca Bucarelli, who donated the documentary material to archives of Scandicci.
