By means of nineteen monographs dedicated to as many protagonists of the twentieth century in Arezzo (with regard to institutional, politic, religious, economic ambits as well as cultural, musical and sporting fields), the historical events of this Tuscan province have been reconstructed all through the twentieth century. From a peripheral agricultural town governed by a narrow rank of landowners and professional men, after the Second World War the city of Arezzo – passing trough a very important experience of a podestà during the Fascist period – became a modern industrial centre ruled by left-winger political parties.
