A synthesis of the research carried out by the two authors over a period of more than ten years on the problems of reading and deciphering Cretan scripts of the II millennium B.C. Attention is focused on the Linear A: the interpretative investigation of this writing and its underlying language has, in some areas, achieved great results unfortunately known only to authorities in the field. Special appendices deal with Cretan hieroglyphics, the Phaistos disc and other specific topics. These remarkable details thus increment the knowledge of the ancient Minoan civilisation.
