The music collection of the friary of the Frati Minori della Basilica di S. Maria di Campagna in Piacenza originated in the 19th century. Majority of the works are by Father Davide da Bergamo, born Felice Moretti (1791-1863), who was the Basilica’s organist from 1818 until his death and was considered the greatest Italian organist of the Risorgimento. The collection comprises several hundred manuscripts and sacred vocal music prints, melodramas, organ pieces and methods and treatise by both locally and nationally known composers.
