Forty years of Italian history - from the end of the 19th century to the Second World War - seen from the heart of central Tuscany. Particular attention is paid to the role played by groups of revolutionaries and the dramatic vicissitudes of an anarchic family who, having chosen the road of brigandage, exalted the rebellious character of the area and were subject of great discussion before being crushed by the State and forced to prison, political confinement and finally exiled.
