The first study in the world on this antique theatrical tradition (whose origins date back at least to the 14th century) which is still alive today. A decade of archival and field research enables us to outline the vicissitude of the «ace lhamo» theatre as regards history and form, examining it from a religious anthropological and iconological aspect, with a view to psychology and the history of the theatre.
