This inventory of laws, decrees, and official documents which result from a thorough scrutiny of laws and of the Ministry of Education’s «Bollettino ufficiale» enables us to follow the institutional life of the university between 1859 – a critical year for unification – and First World War. A detailed analytical register helps the reader through the 10675 records of the volume which include, disciplines, chairs and recruitment procedures, statistics about professors and students, legislative measures for each individual faculty as well as for the University system as a whole.
