Maria della Scala hospital and a member of the Piccolomini family accused of having violently attempted to take possession of the grounds that the hospital considered its own and on which the magnate claimed rights of ownership. The introduction reconstructs the out of court conclusion, discussing the inner force of Siena’s society during the period of the anti-nobility offensive.
