This collection of works, the outcome of a conference held 3 years ago, deals with the Adriatic tendency towards Greek and Roman culture. Several of our most important authorities on archaeology and the Classics took part. Relationships between the two Adriatic coasts, Greece and Magna Graecia were examined: the encounter of Greek adriatics with Etruscan pagans and then the Celts and the Illyrians, the Greek conformation of Dalmatia and finally the long process of Romanization of the Adriatic coast line lasting from the 3rd century BC to the mature Imperial age.
