The volume brings together all available documents on the activities of the young Casella in Paris during the first two decades of the century: as a pupil in one of the most advanced classes at the Paris Conservatory, as soloist and conductor, as critic, as a musician of the 'beau monde'. Almost all the documents are hitherto unpublished, and represent an important contribution to the biography of the Italian composer during his studies in France.
