The ecclesiastical policy of Vittorio Amedeo II and of Carlo Emanuele III, with the two 'Concordances' of 1727 and 1741, lead to a new determination of the regulations concerning the relationship between the court of Turin and the Papacy, and also to a new configuration of the conditions of an «ecclesiastic government» in the territory. During its course emerged the policy on the rights of Savoy sovreigns, the jurisdictional practice of magistrates, the role of bishops, the dynamics of social conflict, the language and practice of legitimacy that permeated through society at all levels building up relationships between man, matters and rights.
