- About this book
This work examines the literary production of Ardengo Soffici between 1907 and 1920, in the light of many unpublished works which are presented here in the second tome. Soffici prefers a autobiographical style which, far from being ‘ingenuous’, reveals itself crowded with cultural references. His fragmented style is inspired by both foreign and Italian literary models. A separate chapter is dedicated to the author’s difficult and ambiguous relation with Croce’s aesthetics of «pure intuition».
