Although partially concentrating on one text, the dissertation on «Ginestra» offers a new and original vision of Leopardi's thought and poetry in its entirety. Panicara proposes an alternative reading of Leopardi's work using an almost unusual analytical approach in the Italian critical panorama. Furthermore the first steps are taken towards a change in prospective criticism regarding post-Leopardi poetry of the 19th and 20th centuries.
