This volume reconstructs the career of this popular personality of the social life in Pavia and Milan during the mid fifteenth century as courtier in F.M. Visconti's service, later in that of the Sforza family and in contact with Gonzaga of Mantova. The bibliophile inclination is illustrated with a review of manuscripts recognized as belonging to him, included in the book context of that period. Subsequently the artistic purchases: in Pavia the palace and the chapel adjacent to the Domenican church of San Tommaso; and finally Vincenzo Foppa's altar-piece of Bottigella a masterpiece of Lombardian art of the fifteenth century.
