L'Inferno di Claudio Sacchi

A new iconographic itinerary of the first canto of the Divine Comedy that is coherently inserted in the historical attention towards Dante that the Olschki publishing house wanted to confirm in this year of celebrations. There are 10 cantos that are illustrated with an excellent graphic technique, which recalls the Renaissance tradition (large oil paintings, in the catalog highlighted by numerous details): the visual experience of Dante's imagination of a contemporary artist. Sacchi reinterprets the Inferno and accepts the challenge of joining the ranks of illustrators who, from the first fourteenth-century illuminators to Botticelli, Blake and Doré, to name but a few of the greats who have measured themselves against Dante's journey. The volume will also accompany several traveling exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Claudio Sacchi
(Pesaro 1953), oltre alla Scuola d'Arte di Urbino e all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze risultano fondamentali per la sua formazione gli incontri con Pietro
Annigoni (1973) e Enrico Del Bono (1977). Ha esposto nelle maggiori città italiane e straniere. Svolge un'intensa attività di ritrattista e lavora per diverse gallerie italiane. Negli ultimi anni ha affrescato alcune importanti chiese.
