The complete translation of Horace's Odes done in 1926 and published now for the first time from the original manuscript, shows an aspect of the young Cesare Pavese's culture and figure that has been little considered by the critics until now. It is worth instead of attention, as a document of an early interest for the classics that characterised the personality of the writer throughout his whole experience.
