This volume confirms, once again, the extraordinary capacity of the Modenese scholar to weave a web of contacts and cultural exchanges which spread from the most remote Italian corners to the largest centers of European culture. Amongst the correspondence collected – 56 threads in total – those which stand out for consistency and interest are the ones with Angelo Calogerà, important figure within scientific journalism, the Sicilian philosopher Tommaso Campailla, the scholar Filippo Camerini, the abbot Pietro Canneti and the geographer Giacomo Cantelli.

Matteo Al Kalak, ricercatore di Storia del cristianesimo presso l’Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia. Ha condotto studi sull’eterodossia, sul riformismo religioso tra Cinque e Settecento, i fenomeni di conversione e le strategie di controllo sociale.
