This is undoubtedly the fundamental work of one of Italy’s major authors of spiritual literature in the baroque period, reproduced here for the first time, on the grounds of the Jesi publication (1680) and the variations to the later Venice edition (1682). The introduction highlights the theological quality of the text, faithful to the tradition of essential mysticism conveyed by the pseudo-taulerian corpus, hermeneutically conducted to its most disturbing consequences.

I suoi ambiti di ricerca riguardano in particolare la mistica filosofica di matrice neoplatonica (Eckhart). Insieme a Sabrina Stroppa sta curando l’edizione completa delle opere di Pier Matteo Petrucci.

Sabrina Stroppa è ricercatrice di Letteratura Italiana presso l’Università di Torino. Si è occupata di mistica seicentesca e di letteratura spirituale con numerosi saggi ed edizioni. Presso l’editore Olschki ha pubblicato Sic arescit. Letteratura mistica del Seicento italiano (1998), e l’edizione di un testo ricapitolativo della mistica d’età moderna: G.
