Appendice A (1837-1843)

This book includes 176 unpublished letters from Cavour, some from his aunt, the duchess Victoire de Clermont Tonnerre, to the count plus others related to these (359 in all). Spanning the years 1837-1843 these letters fill in a gap of Cavour’s early adult life and deal mainly with Cavour’s succession to his aunt; an event only partially known but fully illustrated in a letter-book register found in the Cavour archive at Santena in 1970.
