L’opera e l’insegnamento di Andrea Pozzo e Ferdinando Galli Bibiena in Piemonte

The expression of synthesis between various disciplines of human culture, scientific, literary and artistic, «quadraturismo» is identified as a form of art on the border between painting, architecture and technique. The author carries out an interesting yet unusual comparison between the different manual dictates, in particular those of Andrea Pozzo, master of this form of art and Ferdinando Galli Bibiena, master of illusoriness and the architectural works accomplished, checking the historical and cultural sources through an analysis from a predominantly technical viewpoint.
